Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL) received a $20,000 donation from the Three Strohm Sisters Family Foundation to support cancer research. Ed Strohm, Vice President of the Foundation, visited CSHL Assistant Professor and Cancer Center Member Jeremy Borniger’s lab to learn more about his research and present the Foundation’s check to Sarah Kitt. The Borniger lab’s research investigates bi-directional communication between the brain and periphery in the context of cancer. This research, in combination with clinical work, will facilitate the development of novel treatments to improve outcomes for patients with cancer.
Strohm serves on CSHL’s Corporate Advisory Board and will have a plaque placed in one of the courtyards on main campus in honor of his dedication to the Laboratory and the Foundation. Founded in 1999, the Three Strohm Sisters Family Foundation’s mission is to fight against cancer by raising awareness of early detection and supporting research.
